Amazed that engagement party #3 is done and dusted.
I guess that means it is all wedding planning from now on.
I can’t say enough good things about the Fox and Firkin.
There were a couple of hiccups due to interstate planning, but we sorted them all out and it all worked out well.
The only time I had been there in the past was in the downstairs bar section.
Typical Australian version of a an English pub – dark, low ceilings, beams, lots of coasters and some good beers on tap.
The restaurant upstairs was lovely. More natural light, beautiful stone work, higher ceilings and an entrance straight from the carpark (that we discovered when we arrived).
The staff were absolutely wonderful. They couldn’t do enough to help, made an effort to ensure we were happy and were happy to pack up all the leftover food for us to takeaway.
The food! Really really good home made finger food.
Pies, sausage rolls, pastries, cold meat platters, dips. More than enough for everyone.
When you add all the amazing baked desserts our wonderful friends and families brought along there is no wonder we had a heap left over.
I can heartily recommend the Fox and Firkin as a venue for functions.
The only downside of the party was not getting to spend enough time talking to everyone.
I guess is what happens when the party is about you.
There were lots of people I didn’t get enough time to speak to and those to whom I owe a big apology. I don’t always handle things in the best way and I can only hope to make it up soon.
Thank you to everyone who came along – you were there because we love you and miss you.
We can hope to spend more time together in the future.
